Ali Powers has been writing songs and composing since he joined his first band at the age of eleven. He plays a variety of instruments, and records and produces his solo work in his home studio. His songs can be found on Bandcamp and on YouTube. He appeared on Channel 4’s Orange Unsigned Act in 2009.
Among his compositions are songs featured in the movie The Scar Crow, winner of best horror/sci-fi feature at the 2009 London Independent Film Festival for which he also wrote music for the end credits. He has recently composed the score and worked on the soundtrack of forthcoming feature film The Passing Place. He composed music for the end credits of the short film This Side of the Afterlife (2010) narrated by Rik Mayall, and his work featured on Not Alone (2010-1) and DezZzire (2010).
Ali also plays and records with band Hot Japanese Girl who will shortly be releasing their first EP on the Nottingham based indie label I’m Not From London.
